Inside Caretta Beach Resort & Waterpark

Family waterpark holidays are the reason to put this hotel on a shortlist. The live booking button currently lands on Caretta Paradise in Tragaki rather than a Caretta Beach page, so I have flagged this link instead of pretending the two hotels are the same.

This guide is deliberately about this hotel rather than a generic description of Zante. When choosing a room, compare the exact layout, view, balcony or terrace, and whether a family category gives genuinely separated sleeping space. For longer stays, restaurant variety, snack hours and the location of quieter pool areas can make as much difference as the star rating.

Caretta Beach: Pools, Waterpark, Restaurants & Kids

Caretta Beach is a substantial family complex spread across 10 accommodation buildings. The hotel itself lists six swimming pools, so families are not dependent on a single main pool. The headline attraction is the complimentary waterpark, normally operating daily from 10:30 to 17:00. It has five large waterslides for adults and older children, a separate children's pool with smaller slides and water games, a wave pool and a lazy river. There is also a waterpark snack bar, which makes it realistic to spend most of the day there without constantly returning to the main hotel area.

Dining is much broader than a basic three-meal buffet. The resort currently describes four restaurants — three buffet-style venues and one à la carte — together with three bars and a snack bar. This is particularly useful for families staying seven, ten or fourteen nights because there is more opportunity to vary where and how you eat.

Children have their own Kids Club, while the resort also runs themed entertainment. The combination of six pools, waterpark, kids club and family dining means Caretta Beach is best viewed as a hotel where the facilities themselves are a major part of the holiday rather than simply somewhere to sleep between beach days.

Kalamaki outside the hotel

Kalamaki is much calmer than central Laganas and is one of the island's strongest family resorts. The long sandy beach shelves gently and forms part of the protected loggerhead-turtle nesting area. Restaurants and tavernas provide easy evenings outside the hotel, while Laganas, Agios Sostis, Cameo Island and Zante Town are all realistic outings.

Food, Drink & All Inclusive

The useful question is not simply whether All Inclusive is available, but what is actually included. Check current buffet times, snack service, à la carte access, reservation rules, ice cream, branded drinks and the closing time of the All Inclusive bars. These details matter considerably on a 10- or 14-night stay.

What Is Kalamaki Like?

Kalamaki is one of Zante’s strongest family bases: close to the airport, a long sandy nesting beach, tavernas and easy access to Laganas Bay without staying in the centre of Laganas nightlife.

Laganas Bay, Zante Town, Laganas, Cameo Island and boat departures for turtle-spotting are all realistic additions to the holiday.

Transfer & Getting Around

Zante is compact, so transfer distances are generally manageable compared with larger Greek islands. A private transfer reduces hotel stops, while a hire car for two or three days is useful for northern villages, viewpoints, Blue Caves departure points and quieter beaches.
