When choosing a room, compare the exact layout, view, balcony or terrace, and whether a family category gives genuinely separated sleeping space. For longer stays, restaurant variety, snack hours and the location of quieter pool areas can make as much difference as the star rating.

Aqua Bay: 8 Pools, Waterpark, Restaurants & Kids Club

Aqua Bay has far more water space than its relatively compact hotel size suggests. The hotel currently lists eight outdoor pools, one children's pool and one outdoor Jacuzzi. Guests also receive free unlimited entrance to the hotel's waterpark, so this is one of the stronger Zante choices for families whose children want slides and water-based entertainment throughout the holiday.

The food programme includes the indoor Helios main buffet restaurant, the reservation-required Elia à la carte restaurant and the Garden buffet restaurant in the waterpark area. There are also several refreshment points, including Helios Bar, the outdoor Pool Bar and waterpark bars/snack service. Theme dinners at the Garden restaurant can include Greek, Mexican, Italian, Far Eastern and barbecue nights.

Aqua Bay has a Mini Club with professional children's animators. Daytime activities for adults and children can include yoga, aerobics, water polo, swimming competitions, volleyball and pool games. Guests can also use a lively seven-day entertainment programme at sister hotel Planos Bay, with examples including Greek nights, live cabaret, karaoke, live bands, bingo, quizzes, disco nights, talent competitions, children's parties and kids games.

Other leisure choices listed by the hotel include mini golf, bowling, cycling, horse riding and water sports, with some activities off site or chargeable. There is also a sauna and mini fitness centre.

Tsilivi outside the hotel

Tsilivi is a very good family resort because it has enough restaurants, bars and shops for an evening out without having the same nightlife intensity as Laganas. The beach, Zante Town and the north-east coast are easy additions, making Aqua Bay useful for families who want waterpark days but do not want to remain inside the complex for the whole holiday.

Food, Drink & All Inclusive

The useful question is not simply whether All Inclusive is available, but what is actually included. Check current buffet times, snack service, à la carte access, reservation rules, ice cream, branded drinks and the closing time of the All Inclusive bars. These details matter considerably on a 10- or 14-night stay.

What Is Tsilivi Like?

Tsilivi is one of Zante’s best all-round resorts for families and couples, with a beach, restaurants, shops and bars but a less nightlife-dominated feel than Laganas. Zante Town is also straightforward to reach.

Zante Town, Tragaki, Planos and the north-east coast are easy to combine with the resort; boat trips and island drives are straightforward.

Transfer & Getting Around

Zante is compact, so transfer distances are generally manageable compared with larger Greek islands. A private transfer reduces hotel stops, while a hire car for two or three days is useful for northern villages, viewpoints, Blue Caves departure points and quieter beaches.
