Bodrum Town
Bodrum Town is the heart of the peninsula, with the marina, Bodrum Castle, old streets, restaurants, bars, shopping and one of the strongest evening scenes in the area. It suits travellers who want plenty to do outside the hotel and easy access to boat trips and the wider peninsula.
Gumbet
Gumbet is one of the liveliest resorts near Bodrum Town, with a sandy bay, water sports, bars, restaurants and nightlife. It works well for younger couples, groups and families who want a beach by day and a busier evening scene.
Bitez
Bitez is calmer than Gumbet and has a relaxed bay backed by restaurants and cafes. It is popular with families and couples who want a beach-focused holiday with easy access to Bodrum Town when they want more nightlife or shopping.
Turgutreis
Turgutreis sits on the western side of the peninsula and is known for its marina, long waterfront and excellent sunsets. It has a more spacious, grown-up feel and suits couples, families and travellers who want evenings outside the hotel without the intensity of central Bodrum.
Yalikavak
Yalikavak has become one of the peninsula’s most upmarket areas, centred on its modern marina, waterfront dining and luxury shopping. It is especially attractive to couples and travellers looking for higher-end hotels and a polished evening atmosphere.
Torba
Torba is a quieter bay north of Bodrum Town and is known for upscale resort hotels, calm coastal scenery and an easy road connection back into the centre. It is a strong choice for guests who want a peaceful hotel but still want Bodrum Town within reach.
Gundogan

For families
Bodrum can be an excellent family destination when you choose the right bay. Bitez, Ortakent and quieter resort areas provide relaxed beaches, while larger hotels around Torba and other parts of the peninsula often offer pools, children’s facilities and extensive resort grounds.
The key is matching the resort to the family. Some areas are lively late into the evening, while others are much quieter and better suited to younger children.
For couples
Bodrum is particularly strong for couples because of its marina towns, waterfront restaurants, sunset views and boutique-style resort areas. Yalikavak and Turgutreis have a polished marina feel, while Bodrum Town itself offers history, nightlife and restaurants in a compact setting.

Bodrum Weather: January to December
Bodrum has long, hot summers and a classic Aegean climate. May, June, September and early October can be especially attractive if you want warm weather with slightly less intense heat than July and August.
