Turkey has developed one of the broadest selections of resort-style hotels around the Mediterranean and Aegean. At the larger properties, All Inclusive can mean much more than three buffet meals. Depending on the hotel you can find multiple swimming pools, waterslides, children’s clubs, sports, evening shows, à la carte restaurants, beach bars, spas and private sections of beach.

That scale is particularly useful for families. A hotel with several pools and a proper activity programme gives children and teenagers more to do, while parents can choose between busy family areas and quieter parts of the resort. Multi-generational families also benefit from having meals, drinks and entertainment together in one place.

Turkey is equally capable of delivering a more grown-up holiday. There are sophisticated five-star hotels, adults-only options, spa resorts, golf hotels around Belek and luxury properties around Bodrum. Couples can choose a quiet coastal setting or stay close to a town where evenings can be spent outside the hotel.

The important point is that these regions are not interchangeable. A huge Lara Beach resort is a very different holiday from a hillside stay above Ölüdeniz or an Aegean escape on the Bodrum Peninsula. Choosing the area first makes choosing the hotel much easier.
